I am planning on spending this winter pumping out as many planes as I can. I want to have a fairly impressive fleet going on by summer. I just finished my scratch-built Peregrine. So in this approximate order:
1. I've got to get my new Easy Star elapor foam plane put together. I'll definitely work on it this Saturday. I think I need servos. Steve, got any you can sell me? It takes a small size.
Otherwise, I'm going down to Albuquerque Monday, and will have to get a pair of new ones.
2. I'm going to build the Sophisticated Lady sailplane as a powered variant. I am convinced that powered sailplanes are about the sweetest way to fly. I'll do the fuselage/tail assembly first so that I can use my polyhedral Gentle Lady wing to fly it as a tailfeather plane; and while I'm doing that, I'll build the new wing modified for full ailerons, flaps, and spoilers.
3. I'm going to buy the Mr. Mulligan. Although it'll be electric, I'd like to make it a tow-plane, so that we have more towing options. Don't worry, I won't be an amatuer forever. When I'm ready, the Mr. Mulligan will be hanging from the ceiling in my man-cave or at my office, ready also. I'm going to put some very decent power into it. I think I'll need a bigger motor if I'm going to be doing towing.
4. I should probably modify my Gentle Lady for towing. Even though it's a tailfeather plane, I can use the Sophisticated Lady's flapped wing so that Evan won't mind towing me.
5. I dunno. These should bring me to at least springtime. I think I should probably get myself a slope soaring plane. That'll probably be my 5th one. Spring around here is so windy, that'll be the best plane to have. By then, after flying the Easy Star, I should be a decent novice and could probably start learning aileron flight.
In the meantime, I think I'm gonna build another plastic car model. Yeah, I don't just build planes. I do a decent job on cars too. This one will be a 240Z, modified for a Chevy small block V8 with Hillborn injection sticking through the hood, and big-n-littles.
