Pat is the most amazing scratch builder that I have ever seen. He has made a career out of it in fact and many of his plane kits are sold at this website: www.darehobby.comThe main thing he likes to design are very lightweight park flyers. They don't require much power because they usually only weigh around 7 ounces, plus or minus a few. He doesn't care much for the ARF revolution, because like me, he is old-fashioned. However, I must admit ARF foamies are unbeatably tough. I have strengthened the couple of Pat Tritle planes I've built. Otherwise, I think they are very sound designs. Plus I consider him a friend and he's always willing to help.

You should see HIS mancave. He must have a hundred planes hung up there!
The Flying Boxcar pic above is one of the planes I'd like to build. If you've seen the recent remake of Flight of the Pheonix, that is the plane in that movie and that's how I'd paint it. Beautiful flying scenes. If you have not seen that movie, I'll loan it to you.

Love this movie. I've seen them both a bunch... The 1965 star studded one... And the new one... Love Hugh Laurie (he could be the best actor ever)... Great movie!!!
