Thought I'd show off my sailplane. I am going to try flying it, which I hope goes well tomorrow. I did fly it once, years ago, and it flew well. But it's been awhile.

I did launch it yesterday, into what I thought would be a nice field of 3 ft tall grass, but a gust of wind caught it and it went from 4 ft altitude to 15 ft altitude and began hauling ass downwind directly toward a chain link fence. Naturally, I didn't have the radio on for the glide testing, because I didn't think I needed it. But this "homesick angel" didn't need much excuse to go soaring. So it caught a wingtip and spun into the fence tailfirst and pancaked to the ground. Very little damage. I had to rebuild half of one side of the horizontal stabilizer and that wingtip corner. It's a very sturdy plane so it wasn't bad. I had it fixed in two hours.
I'm ready to take it up again...this time with the darn radio turned on!!!
