Alright, I'll start this thread. Here's one of my other passions. I have a need for speed and controlled danger... www.taosracing.com

I'm really glad you take it on the track. Although I admit when I was younger, I was a big street racer and never got caught, I do not condone that anymore. In this town, you can really get away with it too because the cop presence is almost zero; but I wouldn't want to, the way the locals drive.
I'm really into cars too, but for the first time since I have been, I find myself without a garage to work on them, and dirt driveways, which are so in style here, really suck for working on cars. Probably my biggest frustration living here is that I have SUCH a good job, and so does my wife, but we are shut out of the real estate market.
But enough bitching. I decided to get into RC because for a couple of hundred bucks, I can have a completed project and out flying. Building cars takes several thousand. (But it's still fun). I'll post mine too.

I've taken my chances on the street a few times for sure. Here's a video I made on my Interceptor. Taos to the summit in 10 minutes. The camera doesn't give the sense of the intense speed like I had hoped, but it was 100-110 average easy. Could have made it in 7 minutes but playin' it slightly safe. Check it out if you want. It's the same camera I use on the plane taped to my front fender. You can't tell, but it was wicked dangerously fast. 100's in 35's is pushing that envelope...
I posted it on YouTube, but my friend Cullen told me the cops could see it and bust me so I probably should pull it down...

Yes I have heard they can. There was a guy showing the speed he was going in his Ferarri and a shot of his license plate as he peeled out. They caught up to him. As long as you don't have your license plate posted, you're probably okay.
Cuchilla Rd is what, probably about a 35 zone? Maybe 25, I don't know. Once I got past the speed bumps, I pushed my Vette into the triple digits. It handles so good. And it gobbles up real estate so fast that you're too busy to look down at the gauges.
That's what I like about the Firebird. The gauge is out on the hood, where you can see it and still watch the road.
