You know what I was thinking? LT Swiss, you would probably agree. The most fun I ever had in my long military career was always when I was going to a school, especially if it was challenging. Whether it was just boot camp, or PLC (Army-Primary Leadership Course) or NCOA (Air Force- Non-Commissioned Officer's Academy), or whatever.
I think the reason is because it was pure military theory, and completely devoid of politics. What was expected of you was clear, and the esprit decor was your way of life. Not only that, but in those short weeks which seemed like an eternity, those spans of time did more to define who you are now than the total sum of all other times.

I loved the military for a lot of reasons, but the best was that I was trusted with multi-million dollar equipment. It was the perfect balance of power vs responsibility for me. Goin' to work was like going into a 3d real life video game. I was in avionics and flight control systems on the F-106 Delta Dart Air-to-Air Interceptor. Still a badass... My true title was: WEAPONS CONTROL SYSTEMS MECHANIC www.f-106deltadart.com/In its time it was the most advanced cockpit around... www.f-106deltadart.com/cockpit.htmWe were the 5th Fighter Interceptor Squadron or the "Spitten Kittens" These are the actual alert hangers and birds in Minot, ND I worked at in the late 70's, early 80's. Wow, flashin' back... I tried to re-up 10 years later but they said I was too old...

You really should try to get an RC model of this jet. That would be cool. Only thing is, you'd probably have to buy plans and build it from scratch...then, like Curtiss, you'll have a work of art so beautiful that you won't want to risk it!
That's a cool jet. Also what I think GW Bush flew in the Texas guard, isn't it? I've got a pic of one of our F-16D's I'll post when I get back to work. Hopefully that's where I've got the picture stored.

1st Lt. Bush flew the F-102A Delta Dagger; before the F-106 Delta Dart. The 102's were converted to remote controlled drones as soon as they were retired. They're still using them for target practice in Florida... F-102 RC Drone (pilot in this one just transporting) F-102A Delta Dagger F-106A (one seat) & B (2 seat) Delta Dart.

Sort of has a resemblance to the French Mirage, doesn't it?
