Well I tell you truly, I thought for sure this plane was destined for the boneyard. It's last crash was a killer and I just threw the thing in the closet having decided to strip all the good stuff off it later. She had been crashed and totaled 4 times prior and I was sick of gluing it back together. It sat there a month until Curtis crashed his Mustang real bad so I offered it to him for parts. He surgically removed the whole firewall and motor mount assembly for his fix and I threw the returned carcass back in the closet. Well, today I read Mark's post again about him building his Mustang, and I guess it motivated me to see if I had enough parts laying around to somehow restore the dead P-51D. Well, low and behold, I did. The hardest part was sculpting a firewall with a hot glue gun. I increased the motor torque angle to 4 degrees and hot glued the whole plane solid. It can't be disassembled for repairs. Anyway, here she is, ready to go (I hope). I'll give her some sky on Sunday with the guys. Can't wait... Click here for the sound of the awesome P-51. Crank the volume for the goosebumps... avanimation.avsupport.com/sound/P-51.wav
